Roberta Barth broke this A-1 story, and was the only reporter to get NBC's Tonight Show Host Jay Leno to do an interview about the proposed legislation.

One of the bills would require classic cars meet current emission standards.  The newly formed association was a formiddable force that killed it and similar bills.
