About

Roberta Barth

Roberta Barth lives in Fair Oaks, California, where she grew up and attended the local schools, and has spearheaded many community projects.

Her life was one of the family in public service and the other side in the news industry.

Throughout her life she has been involved in many

community projects, beginning as a child with her parents. She grew up in an atmosphere of "Only a Life Lived for Others is a Life Worth Living."

As a young teenager, she developed her activism skills working with her brother, Robert W. Barth II, who worked on youth projects under then California Governor Ronald Reagen.

She followed in Robert's footsteps and also served two years on Bella Vista High School's Executive Board, spearheading and implementing positive changes that still exist. See the Achievements page for details.

Roberta spent many summers as a child in newsrooms learning different skills. To keep her busy, the ladies in production would have her work with them on cutting and pasting the newspaper together. This were she first learned design skills.   When she was old enough, she developed film and made prints, learning eye appeal.

As a teenager, she spent summers doing legal research for her mother, making note of items of interest, or, finding items that conflict or confirm a lawyer's interpretation. It was during these times of discussion and analyzing, that Roberta learned skills that served her well as a news reporter.

She began her reporting and writing skills working on the high school newspaper and yearbook, where she became editor of an award-winning innovative style and content.

During her career as a newspaper and wire news reporter she has won many national and state awards for her employers doing exclusive, and or, in-depth and investigative news stories.
